How to Manage Multiple Auracast™ Transmitters Across Rooms

Give each broadcast a recognizable name, add optional PIN protection, and help listeners choose the right audio stream using MoerLab Device Manager and the MoerLab Audio App.

Clear identification. Optional access control. Easier listening.

The Challenge

Multiple Rooms, Multiple Broadcasts

In conference centers, classrooms, museums, healthcare facilities, and public venues, several Auracast™ transmitters may be active within listening range. When broadcasts are not clearly labeled, users may select the wrong room or audio program. Consistent names and optional PIN codes make stream selection more straightforward.

A

Similar Broadcasts

Several nearby transmitters can be difficult to distinguish by default names alone.

B

Wrong-Room Selection

Listeners may unintentionally join audio intended for another room or activity.

C

Shared Access

Some installations need an extra step to limit who can join a broadcast.

The Solution

Two MoerLab Tools, One Simple Workflow

1

MoerLab Device Manager

On a supported Mac or Windows computer, configure the transmitter's broadcast name and, when supported, an optional broadcast PIN.

2

MoerLab Audio App

On a compatible mobile device, discover available broadcasts, select the one identified by name, and enter the PIN if prompted.

Example: Three Rooms, Three Clearly Identified Broadcasts

◉
Room A – MeetingOptional PIN: 1234
◉
Room B – TrainingOptional PIN: 2345
◉
Room C – BroadcastOptional PIN: 3456
Configure each transmitter→Find the broadcast by name→Enter PIN if required
MoerLab multi-room Auracast setup: configure broadcast names and optional PIN codes in Device Manager, then find and join a transmitter using MoerLab Audio App
Configure each transmitter by room, then select the intended broadcast in the MoerLab Audio App.
Step-by-Step Setup

Set Up Your Multi-Room Audio System

1

Rename Each Transmitter

Use MoerLab Device Manager to assign a meaningful broadcast name based on its room, purpose, or language.

Examples: Room A – Meeting; Room B – Training; Room C – Broadcast.

2

Set an Optional PIN

Where supported, configure a PIN to require an access code before listeners join the protected broadcast. Share the code only with intended users.

3

Discover and Connect

Open the MoerLab Audio App, search for broadcasts, select the correct name, enter the PIN when prompted, and start listening.

Listener Experience

Connect in Five Simple Steps

  1. Open the MoerLab Audio App on a compatible smartphone.
  2. Search for nearby Auracast™ broadcasts.
  3. Select the desired transmitter by its configured name.
  4. Enter the broadcast PIN if the selected stream is protected.
  5. Join the broadcast and listen on a compatible receiving device.
Applications

Where This Setup Works Best

01

Conference Rooms

Identify audio from adjacent meeting rooms without confusing similar broadcast names.

02

Classrooms & Training

Label lecture or training streams by room and session.

03

Museums & Tours

Help visitors choose a specific gallery, tour, or language stream.

04

Public Venues

Organize assistive-listening broadcasts across multiple zones.

05

Healthcare Facilities

Make broadcast sources easier to identify in shared listening spaces.

06

Multi-Zone Installations

Use consistent naming conventions as more transmitters are deployed.

Compatibility and security note

Device Manager settings and PIN-protected broadcast joining depend on the specific MoerLab transmitter, receiver, app, and firmware versions. PIN-based broadcast access control is not equivalent to physical room isolation or a comprehensive security system. For headphones, speakers, and third-party receivers, confirm the supported Auracast™ discovery and PIN-entry workflow before deployment.

Make Multi-Room Auracast™ Easier to Manage

With clear broadcast names and optional PIN codes, MoerLab helps venue operators organize transmitters and makes it easier for listeners to choose the intended audio stream.
